Gulf South Risk Services’ role is to manage and assist clients in establishing systems and procedures to handle claims effectively. We are available to our clients for third party administration and assistance in self-administration as part of an unbundled insurance program; for auto liability, general liability, and workers compensation.

Whether claims handling is performed by Gulf South Risk Services as a third party administrator or the client internally, Gulf South Risk Services will monitor the process, where appropriate, for all casualty coverage's.

The specific services provided by Gulf South Risk Services can be tailored to fit the requirements of the client’s risk management program.

Gulf South Risk Services can:

• Act as liaison between the client and the insurance carrier or claims administrator
• Develop specifications for third party administration
• Develop claims handling guidelines
• Develop procedures to be followed when reporting claims and suits
• Access on-line risk management information systems
• Assist in developing special-purpose personal computer applications
• Assist in resolution of coverage issues, including coverage disclaimers or reservation of rights letters
• Clarify the insurer’s pre-settlement notification procedures to ensure an opportunity for timely input by Gulf South and the client
• Advocate prompt and fair settlement practices
• Assist in evaluating settlement proposals
• Develop and propose structured settlements
• Report claims to excess layers
• Assist in resolving conflicts between primary and excess carriers
• Assist in developing attorney networks consistent with claim defense strategies.

Where appropriate, we can make arrangements with the client to provide claims
services on an existing claim portfolio.
